Health! When the wine dresses in beer and says ‘Hello world!’

by David Martín Rius

The new sensation in the world of drinks

Prepare to meet the star of the moment: Winebeer, a charming concoction that fuses the best of sparkling wine and craft beer. This innovative creation is the work of the Genius of Chilean Grape Group (CGG), a branch of the Yarur family conglomerate, which has not hesitated to break into the universe of alcoholic beverages with an explosive cocktail that will surely make you lift the cup.

Taste and Science: The magic behind Winebeer

Diego Swinburn, the general manager of CGG, shares his enthusiasm: “It’s like a beer, but in reality, it’s wine.” With more than three years of experimentation at the plant located on the lovely Island of Maipo, the team has managed to develop a product that could change our way of enjoying a good drink.

The star ingredients

Winebeer’s secret lies in the combination of white grape varieties, such as Moscatel and Pedro Jiménez, along with yeasts and a hint of hops, the magic ingredient that gives life to beer. And best of all: there is no barley in the recipe! So those looking for gluten -free options can provide without worries.

A passport to innovation

With great pride, CGG is in the patenting phase of this product worldwide, a process that began almost two years ago. Swinburn emphasizes that they have taken a big step when hosting the PCT agreement, which covers about 150 countries. That is to cross the puddle with style!

Winebeer: An international success

Horizons expand: CGG has shown their product at food fairs in France and Germany, which has been key to bringing Winebeer’s taste to new lands. Until now, the group has sent some 600 boxes to territories such as Holland and Canada, a first step towards its ambitious goal of conquest: Hong Kong, Japan, Scandinavia and much more.

Chile, here we go!

They not only look for international tours; Swinburn is clear that he also wants Chileans to know this unique drink. His debut at the Cachagua Expo in January had a spectacular reception, and with it, the foundations for a promising future in the local market are laid.

Supports and challenges on the road

The expansion ambition has a solid support. The support of the Yarur group has been invaluable for CGG on this journey. Swinburn is grateful to mention that Luis Enrique Yarur believed in the vision from the beginning, even when Winebeer was just a prototype -shaped dream.

Diversifying the portfolio

Together with Winebeer, CGG diversifies its offer with bottled wines, concentrated juices and bulk wine, generating a turnover of around 60 million dollars annually. His office in Hong Kong acts as a bridge to the growing Chinese market, where his main clients are located.

A sparkling future

As CGG advances with Winebeer, the future seems dazzling. Without the immediate pressure of generating profits, Swinburn focuses on establishing links in the desired markets, demonstrating that innovation and good taste can open unexpected doors. In this exciting trip, each sip promises to be a discovery.
