The change that everyone dreams: to leave behind the traditional for something more comfortable and automated
After decades improvising with outdated pots and containers, I decided to take the step towards beer modernity. My methods, although reliable, no longer allowed me to experience or enjoy the interior process. Thus was born the idea of exploring a more advanced and practical solution, which would allow me to connect, adjust and pack without so many headaches.
A different look at brewing equipment options
Although there are those who consider that the options “all in one” are expensive or limited, in reality, a good investment in prepared equipment can be more accessible than it seems. Before deciding, I analyzed several models and approaches. The market offers semi-automatized systems that double or even triple the price of a simple and compact configuration, designed for small spaces and with simple handling.
The comparison with extremely automated systems, such as those that only occupy a single tray and do all the work with a single button, made me value the versatility and durability offered by the most traditional and robust options, such as those of American manufacture.
What makes different the machine I chose?
My choice fell to an electric machine that combines the functionality of a rims -type recirculation system with a compact design and designed to last a lifetime. With considerable weight, but a structure that invites you to trust its quality, this machine has a couple of stacked tanks that simplify the elaboration process.
One of the most attractive aspects is its size: less than 2 square meters of space for the entire unit and about 30 centimeters for the brain of the system, which facilitates both assembly and storage in a corner of the basement or in a small space.
How does it work in practice?
The process is surprisingly simple. You only need to add water in both deposits, connect the hoses and start the pump that circulates the liquid between the tanks, while the electronic control regulates the temperature and the recirculated to maintain ideal conditions. The simplicity of turning on and adjusting the temperature allows to focus on the taste, aroma and care of the process.
After completing the macerated stage, you just have to let the mustne must and then boil, all through components designed to resist years of use without losing efficiency. The incorporation of an additional heat exchanger, for example, shortens cooling time and helps preserve delicate aromas.
What includes and what improves I added?
The original package brings two stainless steel tanks, intelligent controllers, pumps and accessories necessary to start the production. In addition, I added some supplements that enhance the experience: a steel cart to comfortably move the hotbeds, a top quality heat exchanger, an inline thermometer to monitor in real time and a filter to prevent waste from obstructing the exchanger.
Durability and trust: The brand that supports the investment
Personally, having seen how Blichmann machines support the passage of time in constant use, I trust that this investment will be for a lifetime. The testimonies of brewers who use their equipment daily for years reinforce my decision. They are not only robust but also easy to maintain, with simple interchangeable spare parts and components.
First impressions and initial steps
My package arrived in several boxes careful even in the minimum details. The inspection prior to its assembly was fast and without surprises, and although the assembly process consumes a few hours, the clarity of the instructions makes everything on wheels. The patience at this stage is worth it, because the durability and efficiency that this machine promises justify every minute inverted.
Once clean and prepared, the first contact with the team surprised me for its weight and solidity. The sensation of quality in each piece is evident, from the ways to the levels of level and temperature.
What’s still on my beer path?
From now on, I only have to start the next round, adjusting temperatures and intensities, and taking advantage of every minute to learn more and perfect my recipe. Thermal insulation and the ease of control allow to experience and enjoy without complications.
What is clear to me is that the future of homebrewing is not just to make it easy, but to do it with confidence and in any space, without sacrificing quality or flavor. Innovation combines tradition and technology, and that balance can transform every beer that we elaborate into our own work, with a touch of adventure in each sip.
