The Neipa: A passenger spark or the new classic?

In a relaxed talk with the British media ‘The Morning Advertiser’, Garrel Oliver, a beer teacher of the Afamada 40ft Brewery, shed some light on the phenomenon of the New England IPA (Neipa). According to him, this style could only be the latest fashion in the beer world, similar to those trends that arise a season and disappear forever. Their warning: ‘Neipa have a shorter life cycle than a cat in a dog contest.’

The game of ephemeral beers

Oliver emphasizes that, although the Neipa can offer a juicy and fruit flavor if they are done well, their time on the shelf is limited: ‘They will not endure more than ten days without losing their essence’. This statement highlights the peculiarity of a style that lives, practically, up to date. In his words: ‘It’s like Instagram’s culture; You have to line up to get the best bottles. ‘

In the shadow of fashions

Originally from the east coast of the United States, the Neipa have conquered hearts (and bellies) in the United Kingdom. However, forget about thinking that Brooklyn Brewery will immediately get on this train. Oliver makes it clear: ‘We are not to follow herd.
