The beer adventure begins in Seville
Cruzcampo, that iconic beer brand, had its origin in the warmth of Seville in 1904, when the Portuenses brothers Roberto and Tomás Osborne decided to leave their mark on the sparkling world. Since its inception, this brewer has not only used water and barley, but has made history.
A trip over the years
The arrival of the new millennium brought with it a significant change for Cruzcampo. In 2000, Heineken became part of the Dutch giant and, at the same time, merged with the eagle, becoming the second largest beer producer in Spain. And as who says, this is just the beginning!
Of symbols and traditions
On the way to the consolidation of his identity, in 1926 Gambrinus was born, the official symbol of Cruzcampo. Later, in 1937, the company was transformed into a corporation. Not only consolidated their brand, but they also began to innovate, promoting the cultivation of beer barley in 1951.
Innovations that made a difference
During the 1960s, Cruzcampo introduced significant improvements in cold filtering, allowing its beers to maintain its natural properties. In 1968, the brewer ventured out of Andalusia, starting a path of expansion that would lead her to be a national reference.
Leading the flavor revolution
1986 was a year that resonated in Spanish beer history with the launch of the ‘Shandy’, a beer with a sparkling touch of lemon. This creation not only diversified the Cruzcampo portfolio, but also opened the doors to the category of beers with flavors in the national market.
Cruzcampo in the new millennium
Changes in the corporate structure continued. The fusion with Grand Met in 1988 not only added resources, but brought with it a series of transformations that revitalized the brand. In 1993, the Cruzcampo S.A. Group was founded, even more consolidating its shocking presence after the Expo92 of Seville.
From tradition to innovation
The Cruzcampo Foundation, created in 1995, was a testimony of the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence. At the end of the 90s, Cruzcampo Glacial was born, a system that guaranteed that each sip is served at ideal temperatures between zero and two degrees, ensuring a refreshing experience.
The future flavor
The new millennium brought with him the creation of “La Cruz Blanca”, a thematic brewery that celebrated the rich history of the brand. With the inauguration of its new factory in Seville and the launch of Cruzcampo Light in 2007, the brand showed that it is always willing to innovate and adapt to market demands.
Thus, Cruzcampo continues to enjoy a vibrant and bubbly trajectory. From its humble beginnings in Seville to its current status as a symbol of Spanish beer culture, this brand has managed to combine tradition, innovation and a pinch of madness, perfect to cheer any celebration!
